To understand the present we must look into the past

history_1In 1994, Juan Carlos Riefkohl bought from his father his first business. This happened to be an Auto Part located in Humacao, Puerto Rico. Among the services offered in a regular auto part they began assembling hydraulic hoses in a small shop located in the basement of the building. In 2001, Juan Carlos opened a second auto part in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. This store will also have a shop to assemble hoses. As the demand for this service grew the need for inventory did too. Juan Carlos, as a visionary and entrepreneur, found a great opportunity to start a new business. He will spend hours in the internet searching and contacting suppliers for hydraulic hoses. He began buying for both of his locations. As we all know the more you buy the better price you can get.  So with this on mind he started to buy in big quantities. He only wanted to have a better inventory and to be able to provide a better price for his customers. Soon we will have the widest inventory in hydraulic hoses and components in the southeast area of the Puerto Rico. In 2002, Juan Carlos became a Boston Chemical Hose Certified Technician by Eaton University.

In 2003, Puerto Rico Hydraulic Supply, Inc. was founded in our Yabucoa location. Soon we will have customers from all around the island coming to visit us as a warehouse. As inventory gets bigger so does the need for a bigger warehouse. In 2007, we bought our location in Gurabo, Puerto Rico. This building included a 24,000 square feet warehouse and our corporate offices. With a bigger warehouse we could now offer more services to our customers. Among those services are hydrostatic testing to certify the working pressure for industrial hose assemblies, assembly and repair of driveshafts, and tube vending equipment to build fittings with specific requirements. We also added a Uniflex HM325IB machine for the manufacture of hose assemblies with a press range of 3/16 to 6 inches diameter. This machine gave us a leading edge in the market since it is the only machine of this pressing range in Puerto Rico

history_2As time passed we found a need for a Metro Area location to be more accessible to our northern area customers. In 2010 we opened a store and warehouse in Rexco Industrial Park in Guaynabo. This location offers services of assembly and has a vast inventory of our products as well. Our customers around the island do not have to visit our stores if they can’t. We have sales representatives that can visit them and offer our products and services. Our two stores offer free consultations and quotes. Daily delivery of our products are available Monday to Friday by an independent carrier.

Offering the best products and services at competitive prices to our clients have always been our primary motivation. We are always looking for better ways to serve our customers and their industries needs so we are constantly adding more lines of products and services to Puerto Rico Hydraulic Supply.
